Obituary

ILION - Paul Cardarelli, 86, of London Towers Apartments, passed away Wednesday evening, March 30, 2005, in Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown. He was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Utica, son of the late Peter and Mamie Alamia Cardarelli. Paul was raised and educated in West Winfield, Roscoe and Conklin. For many years, Mr. Cardarelli worked as a butcher for the Chancellor Square Meat Market in Albany, retiring in 1980. Paul was a man with a free spirit. He loved to travel, sometimes taking a whole summer and driving to some distant spot in America. His family will always remember him as a caring and giving man. He will be greatly missed.Surviving him are a brother, Joseph Cardarelli of Clark Mills; three sisters, Elsie Mae Mang of Columbia, Eleanor Adamcyzk of New York Mills, Carmella Posch of New Hartford; and several nieces and nephews.Besides his parents, a brother, Anthony Cardarelli preceded him in death in 2001.Funeral service will be on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer.Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service, 2-3 p.m. Interment in Dolgeville Cemetery will take place later this spring.Expressions of sympathy may be made to Feed the Children Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
