HERKIMER-Pauline Mae Hart Filipczuk age 87 of Moore Avenue passed away on December 10, 2014 in her home. She was born on August 12, 1927 in Kingsbush, town of Saint Johnsville, daughter of the late Olin Sr. and Sarah Kretser Hart. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Oppenheim-Ephrata Central School with the class of 1947. Pauline was married to John Filipczuk in Herkimer, he preceded her in death on December 19, 1993. Mrs. Filipczuk was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post # 4915 Ladies Auxiliary, Herkimer, a member of American Legion Post # 38 Herkimer and at one time a member of the Polish Club in Herkimer. Surviving her are one daughter, Phyllis Ruggerio and her companion Michael Spellman of Ilion, four sons and their wives, Phillip and Kay Filipczuk of Missouri, John and Mari Leigh Filipczuk of Herkimer, Dennis Filipczuk of Frankfort, Gary and Chika of Okinawa, Japan, a sister, Dorothy Hart Mosher and her husband Jacque of St. Johnsville, four brothers, Olin Hart Jr. of Johnstown, Richard Hart and his wife Esther, Edward Hart and his wife Deanne, Arnold Hart and his wife Jean all of St. Johnsville, two sisters-in-law, Arlene Hart of Stratford, Tess Hart of Oppenheim, a brother-in-law, Stephen Genis of Schenectady, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband John she was predeceased by her daughter, Lorraine Filipczuk Slater, an infant son, Donald Paul Filipczuk, a sister, Erma Hart Genis two brothers, David Hart and Raymond Hart Sr. Calling hours for Mrs. Filipczuk will be on Saturday December 13th (today) from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm in FENNER FUNERAL HOME Inc. 115 Court Street; Herkimer. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Village of Herkimer Fire Department, The Herkimer County Humane Society or Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.
