HERKIMER-Pearl Elizabeth Felten age 74 of 105 Protection Avenue, entered into eternal rest on Saturday evening December 20, 2003 in Faxton Hospital, Utica. She had the comfort of her loving daughter and son-in-law at her side.
She was born on November 10, 1929 in Passaic, NJ, daughter of the late Ellis and Julia Kozma Popick. A lifelong resident of Clifton she was a graduate of Clifton High School. On May , 1959 she married Charles G. Felten in Clifton. Theirs was a loving and devoted union of thirty-nine years until his passing in May of 1996. In 1998 she moved to the Nathan Galinsky Apartments in Herkimer to be closer to her family.
For fifteen years Pearl worked as a secretary for the BBDO Advertising Company in Manhattan retiring in 1962 to stay home and care for her family. She was a loving, caring and hopeful person who instilled good values to those she loved. She will always be remembered as a great cook and homemaker with a special fondness for her cats Shadow and Button.
Surviving are her daughter Christine and her husband Alan of Frankfort, one brother, Ellis Popick of Clifton, NJ, her best friend, Eli Simonsen of Sisters, OR and several first and second cousins in Garfield, NJ.
The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Tuesday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 4:00 until 6:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service starting at 6:00 pm with the Reverend Wrightson Tongue, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer-Little Falls officiating. Mrs. Felten will be laid to rest with her husband in Brigadier General William C. Doyle V.A. Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ at a time convenient to the family.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
