RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Pearle A. Lennebacker age 99 of County Highway # 22 passed away on Monday evening November 21, 2005 in Valley Health Services Inc., Herkimer. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side. She was born June 23, 1906, in Brewer, Maine, daughter of the late Harry J. and Jennie Burnett Smith. Pearle was raised and educated in Fitchburg, Maine. On Sept. 2, 1926, she was united in marriage with Charles "Milton" Lennebacker in Chenango Bridge. A loving and devoted union of 41 years. Mr. Lennebacker preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1967. For many years she worked as a seamstress, until she was 90 years old. Mrs. Lennebacker was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Lake Worth, Fla. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her friends and family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. To all that knew her, they will never forget her warm smile and quiet manner. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are one daughter, Joan E. Thompson of Richfield Springs; six grandchildren, Darshan and James Fresco, Charles Newell III, Diane (wife of Mark) Thompson, Brett and Barb Thompson, Kim and Gene Butler, Kelly and Rick Brown and Nell and Mike Sweeney; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Milton, brothers, sisters, two sons-in-law, Charles A. Newell Jr., and Lyle Thompson Jr., grandson, Mark Thompson and most recently a daughter, Patricia Newell on Nov. 8, 2005, all predeceased her. At Mrs. Lennebackers request, all services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made with donations to the Richfield Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
