MOHAWK-Philip W. Brown, age 62, passed away in his home on Monday, September 15, 2014. Philip was born on September 25, 1951, son of the late Richard G. Brown and Ruth W. Brown. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Mohawk High School class of 1969. On August 5, 1972 he married the former Connie Hailston in the United Methodist Church, Mohawk. He was a dairy farmer for over 45 years and was also employed at Remington Arms for 42 years as a machine operator. He enjoyed watching wildlife on his farm, running errands with his dog and telling stories with his family and friends. He was a devoted son, loving father and a kind neighbor. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Connie B. Brown, a daughter, Jamie M. Brown, a granddaughter, Lilia S. Brown, two brothers, Stephen and David Brown and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Chad. S. Brown and a sister Ann Cullen. Calling hours will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Word Christian Center, 27 East Main Street, Mohawk and will be immediately followed by a Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Herkimer County Humane Society. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., Herkimer.
