Obituary

HERKIMER - Philip N. Graziadei Jr., 40, of North Washington Street, passed away after a long illness on Friday evening, Aug. 30, 2002, in Valley Health Services Inc., with the comfort of his loving family around him. He was born on Dec. 10, 1961, in Utica, son of Philip N. Sr. and Ann T. Laino Graziadei. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from New Hartford High School and furthered his education, graduating from Geneseo College. On Aug. 2, 1986, he married Silvia Ceneviva in St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. Msgr. Carlo Denti and the Rev. Peter Nabozny officiated. Phil first worked as a lab technician for the Utica Corporation. For the past 10 years he was a lab technician engineer with the Special Metals Company in New Hartford. In his professional life, he was a member of the Association for Special Metals. He had a passion for children. In his leisure time he enjoyed coaching Herkimer youth as well as refereeing and holding various positions in the American Youth Football (Pop Warner League) in Herkimer. Phil had a close relationship with God and led a devoted Catholic life. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. He will always be remembered as a loving, caring and hopeful person who had a very special relationship with his wife and children. He will be greatly missed by many, especially his friends and family. Surviving are his devoted wife of 16 years, Silvia; one daughter, Kristina Rose Graziadei; two sons, Philip N. Graziadei III, Daniel M. Graziadei, all of the home address; his parents, Philip N. Sr. and Ann T. Graziadei of New Hartford; a brother, Nicholas Graziadei and his children (Phil's godchild) Carly, Ellie and Joey of Florida; two sisters, Michele Roefaro and her son Martin of Florida, Cheryl Kutsko and her husband Paul with their children Paul, Evan and Samantha of Utica; a special sister-in-law, Cathy of Florida; his mother and father-in-law, Silvio and Eleanor Ceneviva of Herkimer; two brothers-in-law, John Ceneviva and his wife Laurie with their children Gina and Johnny of Rochester, Silvio Ceneviva and his girlfriend Holly Hunt of Schenectady; three sisters-in-law, Rose Burroughs with her three children (Phil's godson) Richard, Jamie and Danielle of Herkimer, Lisa and her husband Donald "Chip" Green with their daughter Isabella of Herkimer, Bianca Hausauer and her husband Scott of Louisiana; his dear friend Phil Cittadino; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. The Rev. Mark Cunningham, pastor, will officiate. Committal in Calvary Cemetery will be held at a later time convenient to the family. The family will be present in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer, to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The family requests as an alternative to flowers, please consider memorial donations to the St. Francis de Sales Church Parish Center or the Philip N. Graziadei Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund for the Herkimer American Youth Football League, c/o 115 Court St., Herkimer 13350-1923. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
