RICHFIELD SPRINGS Philip C. Krause, age 65, passed away on June 25, 2003, in his home after a short illness. He was born on August 4, 1937, in Syracuse, a son of the late Albert W. and Lillian S. (Kiefer) Krause. At the age of three, his family moved to Richfield Springs where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Richfield Springs High School. A US Airforce M.P. veteran he served from 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1960. Upon his return to civilian life he went to work for General Electric in Schenectady. For a while he worked in the Post Office in Schoharie as well as helping on the farm. More recently he was employed with Wal-Mart before retiring in 2002. Philip was a quiet, gentle compassionate man.His family will remember him as a loving, caring and patient person who lived his life in the service of others.He had a strong love for the outdoors, fishing was his pastime, and he took great pride in his garden. He is survived by three devoted sisters, Blanche Rapenske and her husband Robert of Glen Rock, NJ, Lillian Cantwell and her husband William of Richfield Springs, June A. Krause of Edmonds, WA, many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Albert W. Krause on April 22, 1990. Funeral Service and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Richfield Springs Volunteer Rescue Squad or the Highland Rural Cemetery Association.
