Ralph J. Goodale
RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Ralph J. Goodale, 83, of West Main Street, died unexpectedly on Wednesday May 3,2000 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
He was born on November 28, 1916, in Richfield Springs, sonof the late Roger and Mabel Baltzell Goodale. A lifelong Richfield Springsresident, he was educated in Richfield Springs Schools. An honorably dischargedUS Army veteran, he served our country during World War II. Ralph was married tothe former Betty Ellis, she died in 1977. For eighteen years he was a heavyequipment operator for the New York State Thruway Authority, retiring in 1978.He was a member of the Richfield Springs American Legion Post.
Surviving him are two sons and their wives, David andJeannine Goodale of Clifton Park, Thomas and Marcia
Goodale of Richfield Springs; four brothers, William Goodaleof Utica, Warren Goodale of Irvine, CA, Roger
Goodale of Barstow, CA, Jack Goodale of Richfield Springs;three sisters, Alice Dent of Naples, FL, Virginia Fassett of Port Orange, FL,Catherine Estarring of Middleville; three grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren, several nieces, nephews and his good friend and companion JoanStarr of Richfield Springs. He was preceded in death by two brothers George andWard Goodale.
A graveside service with military honors accorded by theRichfield Springs American Legion Post will be held on Saturday morning at 11:00Am in Lakeview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in J.Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs.
Members of the Richfield Springs American Legion Post areasked to meet at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:30 PM for services.
