ILION – Raymond Albert Eaton, age 78, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital, Utica. He was born on June 11, 1946, in Little Falls, a son of the late Raymond F. and Arlene (Cassaw) Eaton. A lifelong area resident he attended West Canada Valley Central School. As a young man he and his sibling helped on the family farm. In 1973 he joined the U.S. Army proudly, serving his county for 13 years. He was honorably discharged in 1986. For many years he worked as a truck driver, for Al-Nye, Utica and Obreza, Mohawk. Raymond will be remembered as a quiet, hardworking man. He will be sadly missed. At one time he was married to Isabelle "Liz" Davy. They had two children. On September 23, 2023, he married Jennifer Dunkel (Mead) in Mohawk. Surviving are his wife Jennifer, his children, Linda Eaton Bracken her husband Edward, William Eaton his wife Cassandra all of Ilion, grandchildren Cyan and Bryan also of Ilion. Siblings, Ruth Ann Brown, James Eaton, Rea Zabry, Howard Eaton and his wife Debbie. Besides his parents he was pre-deceased by two brothers, Jack and J. Thomas Eaton. The funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc. Herkimer.
