RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Raymond Lynn Hebert, age 71, of East Main Street passed away on Monday afternoon May 28, 2012 in his home. He had the comfort of his loving family at his side. He was born on February 6, 1941 in Little Falls, son to the late Raymond and Irene Block Hebert. Raymond was raised in Little Falls and was a graduate of St. Marys High School. He furthered his education earning a Bachelors Degree from Utica College and receiving his Masters Degree from Oneonta College. At one time he was married to the former Linda Bramer. For thirty-five years, Mr. Hebert taught High School Chemistry. He started his career at Owen D. Young School where he also coached basketball then later Ilion High School and last at Richfield Springs Central Schools where he retired in 1997. He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Richfield Springs and an Auxiliary member of the Richfield Springs Vets Club. Ray had a strong love for the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and at one time owned a taxidermy business. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening, reading, watching college basketball and most of all spending time with his children and family. Surviving are a son; Marc and his wife Nicole Chapman-Hebert of Frankliton, NC, two daughters; Christine Hebert of Liverpool and Cathleen Hebert of Raleigh, NC, one brother, George Craig Hebert of Little Falls, a sister, Dale Oldick and her husband Charles of Little Falls, his one month old granddaughter Haylee Nicolette Hebert of Frankliton, NC and many cousins. At Mr. Heberts request his funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
