HERKIMER - Reta L. LaBarge, 87, of the Country Manor, formerly of Lake Street, passed away on Monday morning, April 17, 2006, in Folts Homes. She was born Sept. 9, 1918, in Plattsburg, daughter of the late Charles and Louise Gonyea Bassett. Reta was raised in Redford with her nine siblings. She was a graduate of Redford High School. On Sept. 30, 1939, she was united in marriage with Edward O. LaBarge in Redford, a loving and devoted union of 53 years. Mr. LaBarge preceded her in death on April 17, 1993. Mrs. LaBarge was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She had a strong belief in God and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. She will always be remembered as a loving, caring and hopeful person. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. Surviving are one son, Gary and his wife Linda LaBarge of Herkimer; three grandchildren, Kimberly LaBarge of Little Falls, Ashleigh and Destiny LaBarge, both of Herkimer, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Edward, nine brothers and sisters predeceased her. Funeral from Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer, will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. The Rev. Mark Cunningham, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday afternoon from 2-4 p.m.
