HERKIMER - Richard J. Aubin, 96, passed away on Tuesday evening, April 25, 2006, in Little Falls Hospital. He was born April 30, 1909, in Percy, N.H., a son of the late Dona Joseph and Emily Vachon Aubin. He was raised in Percy and was a graduate of Percy High School. On June 24, 1946, he married the former Barbara J. Abeline in St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. He worked as a carpenter for Standard Furniture Co., retiring in 1974. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Umatilla, Fla., returning to Herkimer this past year. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Barbara; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Abeline, Jennie Pettingill and her husband Raymond, all of Ilion; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Saints Anthony and Joseph Church. The Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, will officiate. Interment in Mountain View Memorial Gardens will be private. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc., Herkimer.
