LITTLE FALLS- Richard I. Bowman, age 84, passed away peacefully early Tuesday Morning, July 17, 2018 in Little Falls Hospital. He had the comfort of his loving family by his side when he passed. Richard was born in Herkimer on August 16, 1933 a son to the late David and Rose Knaut Bowman. He was raised and educated in Herkimer. On March 21, 1953 he married the former Betty Hadcox in Herkimer. He was a machinist with Remington Arms for 26 years retiring in 1990. A kind and gentle man, Richard was one who loved his family enjoyed to be with them, especially all of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Richard was a friend to many and will never be forgotten. Surviving him are his wife of sixty five years Betty, three sons; Richard Bowman, Jr. of Ilion, David Bowman and his wife Kim of Newport, Steven Bowman and his wife Melinda of Poland, two daughters; Kim Congdon and her husband Herman of Little Falls and Rebecca Bowman of Frankfort, fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by both his brothers, Harold and Alfred and all his sisters, Grace Ingerham, Ruby Harrer, Sarah Lawrence and Edna Jackson. Funeral service for Mr. Bowman will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made in donations to the charity of your choice.
