Obituary

Bamberg,Germany - Robert Donald Edick, age 68 passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning April 14, 2021 after a courageous battle with ALS. Robert was born July 15, 1952 in Herkimer, a son to Shirley Edick and the late Robert Edick. He was raised and educated in Herkimer. He attended Herkimer County Community College obtaining an Associates Degree. During that time he also worked as a sales clerk at Mungers department store. He then entered the Airforce serving 2 years before returning to Herkimer. He was then employed for several years at Remington Arms. In 1979 Robert decided to relocate to Gig Harbor, WA. where he pursued a new career with American Amicable Life Ins. Co. of Waco, Texas. After 2 years in WA. state, Robert then moved to Bamberg, Germany continuing his sales with American Amicable Life. He loved the city of Bamberg and continued to work there until his retirement after 29 years. During the years he lived in Bamberg, he enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and embracing what each country could offer. For those who knew Robert, he was kind and always willing to lend a helping hand with a smile. He made many lasting friendships throughout the years. On August 9th, 1985 he married the former Jutta Mock, the love of his life in Bamberg, Germany. Together they shared a blessed union of 36 years. Surviving him are his wife Jutta, his mother Shirley Edick of Herkimer, a sister Beth Fullington and her partner Nate Acker of Ilion, a brother David A. Edick of Colorado Springs, CO; as well as his niece Amy Warren and her husband David of Mohawk, his nephew Brett Fullington and his partner Lonnie Hardy of Dolgeville. He also leaves behind two great nephews, Dylan Fullington and Tanner Warren, two great nieces, Farah Warren and Natalee Edick, several aunts and uncles, many cousins and his beloved canine companion Lucky. Besides his father Robert, he was preceded in death by his nephew Benjamin G. Edick. Funeral service will take place May 7th, 2021 at 11:00 AM local German time at the Stegaurach Cemetery. Local arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc. 115 Court Street Herkimer.
