EAST HERKIMER-Robert F. Fudjack age 70 of Pine Grove Road passed away on Friday morning March 10, 2006 in his home. He had the comfort of his loving family at his side. He was born on June 3, 1935 in Glen Lyon, PA, son of Michael and Louise Spychalski Fudjack. A lifelong Herkimer resident, he was a graduate of Herkimer High School. Upon graduating form high school he enlisted in the US Navy where he served with the Sea-Bees and was honorably discharged. On August 4, 1979 he married the former Rita Wellington in the town of Herkimer where they have resided since. Mr. Fudjack was a land surveyor for the New York State Department of Transportation, retiring in 1984. He was a parishioner of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church in Herkimer. A member of Michael S. Pliseck Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 4915, Herkimer and the Disabled Veterans of America. Bob had a strong love for the outdoors and nature. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his many friends and family especially his five grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. Surviving are his loving wife of twenty-six years Rita, one son Ronald Sanderson and his wife Peggy of East Herkimer, two daughters, Linda Sanderson of Herkimer, Betty Jones and her husband John of Westmoreland, two brothers and their wives, John and Pauline Fudjack of Vero Beach, FL, Michael and Kathy Fudjack of Steamboat Springs, CO, a sister Shirley Walsh of Herkimer, five grandchildren, Robert Sanderson of Amherst, Ron Sanderson of Herkimer, Nicholas, Nathan and Matthew Jones of Westmoreland, several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents Michael Fudjack and Louise Fudjack Torchia preceded him in death. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm. As alternative to flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the Disabled American Veterans or Hospice and Palliative Care Inc. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. William Parker his Staff, Dr. Atul Butala and Hospice And Palliative Inc. for the care and compassion shown to Bob during his illness.
