RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Robert LaRiviere age 65 of Main Street passed away on Tuesday morning January 3, 2006 in his home.
He was born on March 2, 1940 in Waterbury, CT son of the late Hilaire and Florida Rodier LaRiviere. Robert was raised and educated in New Jersey. He worked as a truck driver for the Bergen County Highway Department, retiring in 1992. Mr. LaRiviere moved to Richfield Springs in 1980 coming from Hackensack, NJ.
He led a devoted Catholic life and was a member of Saint Josephs Church Richfield Springs.
In his leisure time he kept busy building and working on cars, a hobby that he had enjoyed since he was a young man. He also spent many hours woodworking, making tables and building birdhouses. In the warm weather you could find him in his boat fishing or riding through the woods on his ATV. He lived life to the fullest and truly enjoyed his retirement.
He will always be remembered as a caring and hopeful person who was happiest when he was surrounded by his many friends and family especially his four grandchildren.
Surviving him are three sons, Robert LaRiviere and his wife Lisa of Rochelle Park, NJ, Raymond Johnson and his wife Michelle of Baton Rouge, LA, John LaRiviere of Bushkill, PA, his sister with whom he resided Lucille Coppola of Richfield Springs, four grandchildren, Michael and Valerie Johnson, Robert LaRiviere and Keyan LaRiviere, one niece and three great nieces.
Funeral from J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs on Friday at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in Saint Josephs Church with the Reverend Terence Healy officiating. Interment will take place in Saint Josephs Cemetery later this spring. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends Thursday (today) from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice Hope Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
