SCHENECTADY-Robert Douglas Senko age 44, formerly of Richfield Springs, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday evening, September 23, 2015 in Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., New Hartford. He had the comfort of his loving family at his side. Robert was born on July 28, 1971 in Cooperstown, son of Kathryn Littlejohn Senko and the late Andrew Senko. He was raised in Richfield Springs where he graduated from Richfield Springs High School, class of 1990. Furthered his education at Morrisville College and SUNY Oswego where he received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Programing. He first went to work for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady and then went on to working as a computer programmer for the New York Department of State in Albany. Mr. Senko had a deep faith in God and was a very active member of the Light of the World Church in Colonie where he served as an usher. Rob had a strong love for the outdoors, in his leisure time he enjoyed bicycle riding and camping. To those who knew him, he was caring, gentle and generous person who loved his friends and family and they all loved him in return. He will be truly missed. Surviving him are his beloved mother, Kathryn of Richfield Springs, a brother, James Senko and his wife Donna of Millers Mills, three sisters, Marilyn Sas and her husband SERGI of Schuyler Lake, Janet Calvarese and her husband of Edward of Lakeport, his twin sister, Linda Senko and her fianc' Bill Clark of Herkimer, one aunt, several uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Senko in November of 2012. A funeral service in will be held in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs on Tuesday at 11:30 am with Pastor Robert Shepitka, of the Light of the World Church, Colonie, officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery immediately after the funeral service. Calling hours for Mr. Senko will be in the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:30 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
