WEST WINFIELD - Robert C. Sherman age 39 of South Street passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday May 26, 2010 in his home. He was born on September 15, 1970 in Utica, son of Lyle and Sandra Wilbert. A lifelong Richfieldresident, he was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School with the class of 1990. On January 3, 2009 he was united in marriage to the former Christine Peplinski in West Winfield. For -many years he has worked in the building construction trade for Local Union # 754 in New Jersey. In his leisure time he enjoyed playing and watching sporting events. He played basketball and football and also followed his favorite teams the Boston Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys. He will always be remembered as being happiest when surrounded by his many friends and family, especially his cherished son William with whom he shared a special bond. He will be greatly missed. Surviving besides his wife Christine and son William he leaves his parents Sandra and Lyle Wilbert, brothers, John and his wife Linda Wratten of Little Falls, Dean and his wife Jean Wratten of Milford, Todd Wratten of Richfield, two step-brothers, John Wilbert of NC, and Jeff Wilbert of FL, step-sisters, Kim Soule of Cooperstown, Susan Bahr of Richfield Springs, his mother and father in-law, Bernie and Carol Peplinski, two brother-in-law, Bernie and Richard Peplinski all of Cedarville, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a step-sister Patricia Zaccagnino. Funeral service will be on Saturday at 12:00 noon in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home. 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Terence Healy, Pastor of Saint Josephthe Worker Church, West Winfield will officiate. Interment will follow in Saint Josephs Cemetery, West Winfield. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Saturday morning (two hours prior to the funeral service) from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon.
