RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Roberta Lou (Robin) Hosford Fernalld, age 67, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday morning March 19, 2016, with her loving family by her side. Robin was born on December 13, 1948 in Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, daughter of the late Robert J. and Frances V. Gidley Hosford. A lifelong Richfield Springs resident, she graduated from Richfield Springs High School with the class of 1967. She furthered her education at Mohawk Valley Community College where she earned her degree in nursing. After receiving her RN, she worked at Bassett Healthcare for thirty-seven years as a Pediatric Nurse. She retired in 2011. On July 22, 1995 she was united in marriage with William C. Fernalld in the Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs. Robin had an unwavering Christian belief in God and her savior Jesus Christ. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ Uniting in Richfield Springs. Robin had many passions including spending time with her family and friends, making beautiful cross-stitch and afghans, quilting with the church group on Mondays, her Wednesday get-togethers with the ladies, and her motorhome club family. To all who knew her, Robin was a beautiful and loving soul who will forever be missed. Surviving are her devoted husband of almost twenty-one years, William; her children, David Cushman and Robert Cushman both of Glendale AZ, Lisa Burke of Avon, OH, William Fernalld Jr. and his wife Kim of Whitesboro, Kim and her husband John Farruggia of West Winfield, Rebecca and her husband Greg Williams of Clinton; nine grandchildren, Ethan, Anthony, Jacob, Cailyn, Stephen, David, Max, Delainey and Andrew; a great grandchild, Mason; a brother, Michael Hosford and his wife Anna of Richfield Springs; a sister, Patricia Burkholder of Deland, FL; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to express deep gratitude to Lois, Joanie, Donna, Elaine, Sheila and Debbie for their love and caring help. Calling hours for Mrs. Fernalld will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday in the Church of Christ Uniting. Richfield Springs with the Reverend Doctor Mark Ioset, Pastor officiating. Interment will be later this spring in Springfield Center Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs.
