RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Rosalie Ann Hazelton, age 68, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, January 10, 2011 at the Otsego Manor,Cooperstown.
She was born on June 3, 1942, in Cooperstown a daughter of the late Albert and Edna M. Ames Hazelton.
A lifelong Richfield Springs resident she was educated in Richfield Springs Central School.Due to an accident as a young girl, Rosalie was unable to continue her education. She persevered through lifes ups and downs.She was proud of her accomplishments and independence.She enjoyed her home, be it cooking her own meal or baking cookies to share with family and friends.She will be remembered as a hopeful person.In her leisure time she would play cards, she especially enjoyed the game of solitaire. She was a member of Unit 616 American Legion Auxiliary, Richfield Springs.
Surviving are her brother Robert Hazelton and his wife Frances of Richfield Springs along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Charles, and Howard Hazelton, and a sister Helen Stevens.
Calling hours will be on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. with a funeral Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, RichfieldSprings. Reverend John Young will officiate. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, town of Kirkland on Friday at 11:00 am.
Expressions of sympathy may be made with donations to the American Legion Unit 616 Auxiliary or a charity of your choice.Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Members of the American Legion Unit 616, Richfield Springs are asked to meet at the funeral home at 6:30 pm for a prayer service.
