Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Rose Edick, age 79, of 104 North Washington St., Herkimer and formerly of Canadarago St., Richfield Springs, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 7, 2003 in Little Falls Hospital. She was born on August 30, 1923, in Richfield Springs, daughter of the late Antonio and Elizabeth Famulare Vertucci. A lifelong Richfield Springs resident, she was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. On April 13, 1957, she married Kenneth A. Edick in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. A loving union of 26 years, Mr. Edick died on May 3, 1982. Mrs. Edick took much pride in her home and family. She had a strong belief in God and lived a devoted Catholic life. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs where she belonged to the Catholic Women's Club and the Altar Rosary Society. She will be deeply missed by many especially her family. Surviving are one son, Kenneth A. Edick, Jr., of Utah; two brothers, Frederick Vertucci, of Naples, FL and James Vertucci, of Stone Ridge; four sisters, Grace Avery, of New Hartford, Margaret Lasher, of Northville, NC, Theresa Oakes and Anna Edick, both of Richfield Springs; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, Kenneth, two brothers, Anthony and Joseph Vertucci and two sisters, Mary Brown and Elizabeth Lyons preceded her in death. Funeral from J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs on Friday at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. The Rev. Terrance Healey will officiate. Mrs. Edick will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery later this spring. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Vertucci Scholarship Fund or to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
