MOHAWK - Rose Pabes, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 23, 2019, in Upstate University Medical Center, Syracuse.
She was born on May 28, 1938, in Herkimer, daughter of the late Michael and Carmela Fiorentino Moschetto. Rose was raised in Herkimer, where she graduated from Herkimer High School.
For seventeen years, she was employed as a clerical worker for Metropolitan Life Insurance, retiring in 2000. Mrs. Pabes had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. She was a lady who practiced staying in good health. For eighteen years, she was a devoted member of the Aerobics class held at the Mohawk YMCA.
In leisure time, she enjoyed cooking her Italian specialties for her family. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.
Surviving her are two sons and their wives, Lawrence and Shirley Pabes, of Mohawk, and William and Susan Pabes, of Little Falls; three grandchildren, Lawrence S. Pabes, Billy Pabes and Abigail Pabes; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Scott; four brothers, Bill, Pat, Dominic and Frank Moschetto; and one sister, Livia C. Knapp.
A graveside interment service will take place later this spring in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
