RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Russell Alan Edick age 46 of Sheridan Road passed away peacefully on Thursday morning April 4, 2013 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.He had the support and comfort of his loving family at his side.
He was born on June 19, 1966 in Cooperstown son of Shirley Russ and the late Jean Alberta Perry Edick.A lifelong Richfield Springs resident he was educated in Richfield Springs Central Schools.On November 10, 1990 he was united in marriage with the former Tammy M. Spraker in the Springfield Presbyterian Church.
For several years Mr. Edick was employed as a forklift driver for the Wal-Mart Distribution Warehouse in Sharon Springs.
To those who knew Russ he was a kind, fun loving man who found much relaxation and happiness in riding and caring for horses.He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
Surviving him are his devoted wife of twenty-two years Tammy, two sons Tyler Alan Edick and his wife Janna of Ilion, Brandon Timothy Edick of Richfield Springs, two brothers, Jeffrey Edick of Richfield Springs, Russell Ray and his wife Tammy of New Berlin, three sisters and their husbands, Lori and Ron Edick of Ilion, Shirley and Keith Winton of New Berlin, Karen and Rusty Zbirdzin of Sylvan Beach, two grandchildren, Hartley and Payton Edick, several nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides his mother Jean Edick he was preceded in death by his step-mother Eileen Edick and two brothers Timothy and Daniel Edick.
Funeral service for Russell will be on Monday at 2:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs.The Reverend Ronald Fralick will officiate.Interment will follow in Unadilla Forks Cemetery.There are no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy may be to the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
