ILION-Ruth Marion Farrington, age 93, formerly of Herkimer passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon October 13, 2021, in the Abraham House, Rome. She was born on October 21, 1927, in Mohawk, daughter of the late Orval and Marion Bartram Harper. Ruth was raised in Mohawk and was a graduate of Mohawk High School. On June 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to George E. Farrington in the Mohawk Reformed Church. They shared a loving and devoted of sixty-six years until his passing on October 7, 2013. For many years, Mrs. Farrington was employed as a teller with the Marine Midland Bank in Herkimer. She retired in 1966. Ruth had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Herkimer Reformed Church. In 2016 she moved to Ilion to live near to her grandsons David and Daniel Lincourt. To all who knew her, they found her to be a caring, hopeful and religious lady. She was happiest when she was with her many friends and family. She will be sadly missed.​ She is survived by eight grandchildren including David and Daniel Lincourt of Ilion, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband George, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Hildreth and Linda Lincourt. A graveside funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 1:00 pm in Oak Hill Cemetery. Elder Robert Nasypany of the Herkimer Reformed Church will officiate.
