ILION-Ruth Ann Senko age 82 of Pine Street passed away on Saturday afternoon December 14, 2013 in Folts Care Center, Herkimer. She was born on November 27, 1931 in Cooperstown, daughter of the late Clarence Ray and Gladys Truman Davis. A lifelong area resident Ruth was raised in Exeter Center and was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. On April 30, 1955 she was united in marriage with John Senko in Exeter Center. For a short time, Mrs. Senko worked as a clerk for the Westinghouse Company in Utica. After her son Edwin was born she devoted her entire life to taking care of her home and family.
Mrs. Senko had a strong belief in God and was a member of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls. She was an active member of Evening Valley Star Chapter # 82 Order of the Eastern Star in Ilion. To all who knew her they will never forget her caring manner and willingness to do for others. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her two cherished grandsons. She will be truly missed.
Surviving are her loving husband of fifty-eight years John, one son Edwin John Senko and his wife Diane of Leland, NC, two grandsons, Brian and Jason Senko, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Truman Ray Davis.
Calling hours for Mrs. Senko will be on Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer . Funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with the Reverend Janet Gleason, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place later next spring in Armory Hill Cemetery.
Members of Evening Valley Star Chapter # 82 OES are asked to meet at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:45 pm for ritualistic services.
