RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Ruth B. Sheldon, 85 of Richfield Springs passed away peacefully December 3, 2008 at the Otsego Manor, surrounded by those who so wonderfully cared for her over the last year of her life. Ruth, a very godly woman, was a member of the Richfield Springs Baptist Church. Her working years were spent providing nursing home care for the elderly. Ruth and her husband spent over sixteen years enjoying their retirement between the states of Vermont, New Hampshire, Florida, and New York. Ruth was predeceased by her late husband Glenn F. Jester who died in 1955, a sister Lucy Carvin, a brother Ward DuMond, and granddaughter Karen McLean. Ruth is survived by her husband of 50 years, Winfield Sheldon of Richfield Springs, sister and brother in law Martha and Don Earl of Seffner, Florida, brother in law Eena Carvin of New Berlin NY, and her three children Glenn Jester and wife Dulce of Lexington, North Carolina, daughter Linda Zaczek and husband Joe of Mt. Upton New York, and son Wayne Sheldon and wife Michele of Richfield Springs, New York. Ruth is also survived by her 10 grandchildren Toni and Shane Becker, Jon Church and Teara Korbul, Amy and Brian Vanderwerker, Sarah and Aaron Hillyard, Joanne and Keith Evans, Brian Zaczek and Paula Krut, Jeffrey Zaczek and Stacey Scheer, Stephen and Megan Sheldon, Candise and Andrew Davis, and Kala Sheldon and Alex Bosc; 18 great grandchildren and several dear nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday December 5, 2008 at 3:00pm at the Otsego Manor Chapel in Cooperstown, New York. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catskill Area Hospice & Palliative Care or the Otsego Manor. Envelopes will be available at the funeral. Funeral arrangements are with J.
