East Herkimer – Sally Parese, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 18, 2023, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, with the love and support of her devoted family at her side. Sally was born on November 13, 1946, in Herkimer a daughter of the late Robert and Irene (Richard) Jacobson. A lifelong East Herkimer resident she graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1964. She furthered her education attending Cosmetology school, working as a beautician for over almost 50 years until she retired in 2018. On February 5, 1966 she married Patrick Daniel Parese in Herkimer. A devoted union of 49 years until his passing on November 10, 2015. She was a member of the Herkimer Reformed church, the Red Hat Society and an active charter member of the East Herkimer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary. For many years she enjoyed bowling, ceramics, traveling, camping, especially summers spent at Moffitt's Beach, Speculator. Sally's life revolved around her devotion to family and friends. She put others needs and concerns first always with a smile and open heart. Her memory will live on in their hearts forever. Surviving her are two sons and their wives, Robert and Carrie Parese of Little Falls, Patrick "Butch" and Melissa Parese of East Herkimer, one sister Nancy Tubia, and her husband Anthony of East Herkimer, five grandchildren Danielle Parese-Kowalski and her husband Peter, Rebecca Gorinshek and her husband Matthew, Lindsey Parese and her fiancé Ryan Fahy, Katelyn DiRusso and her husband Tyler, Patrick Parese and companion Ariel Bell, great-grandchildren Emersyn and Cooper Gorinshek, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents and husband Pat, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Franklin, and a niece Jami Beth Knapp. Calling hours at the Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer, will on Thursday evening, June 22nd from 4:00 until 7:00pm. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will take place on Friday 10:00am in Oak Hill Cemetery.
