UTICA Sharon J. Godlewski, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, unexpectedly at her home, with her loving family at her side.
A daughter of the late Chester and Betty Miller Godlewski, she born and raised in Herkimer, graduating from Herkimer High School.
In recent years she was a loving caregiver to the elderly, working as a Personal Care Provider.
Sharon will always be remembered as a caring person who was devoted to her family and friends. Her favorite pastime was shopping and giving gifts. Anyone who knew her realized that her greatest passion was unselfishly giving of herself.
Surviving are her loving family, sisters, Kathleen Nurod and her husband Joseph of Schuyler, Linda Madia and her husband Achille, Deborah English and her husband Eric all of Herkimer, brothers, Walter Godlewski and Heather of Little Falls, Chris Godlewski and Kathy of New York Mills, nieces, and nephews, Janelle Nurod and Joseph Nurod, Achille Madia II, Eric English, Joshua English, Alisha, Michele, Gregory and Lucas Godlewski, Christoper Godlewski Anna Godlewski and Tim Salvagni, aunts Jane Godlewski, Irene Polczynski, Mary Jean Bowman all of Herkimer, uncles, John Miller and his wife Sarah, Howard Miller and his wife Carmella, close friends, Anna and Jim Kilbourn, Yolanda Devine and the Riesel family as well as her favorite cousin Tim. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Jean Salvagni and infant brother Chester Carl.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls. The Reverend Janet Gleason, pastor will officiate. The family will be present in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street on Friday evening from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. to receive relatives and friends.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Rescue Mission of Utica or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
