WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Shirley Ann Davis, age 69, formerly of Schenectady, passed away unexpectedly in her home on January 14, 2007.She was born on November 8, 1937, in Thomasville, N.C., the daughter of the late Daniel and Ora Mae Johnson Bumgardner. Raised and educated in North Carolina, she graduated from Thomasville High School. On October 16, 1966, she was united in marriage to Erwin J. Davis in Schenectady. For many years she had worked as a waitress, retiring in 1997.Shirley was an avid bowler and enjoyed vacationing in Florida. She and Erwin have resided there since moving from Schenectady in 1997.She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Erwin Davis who recently moved to Mohawk; one son Williams Filkins of Schenectady; a daughter, Vicky Mercier of Rittman, Ohio; a granddaughter, Christina Riviera of Medina, Ohio; and two great-granddaughters.A graveside service will be held on July 7 at 11 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery. Reverend Mark Cunningham, pastor of St. Francis deSales church will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
