HERKIMER – Shirley A. Edick, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2024 at the Utica Abraham House. She was born on September 11, 1932, in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Ernest and Garnetta (McGraw) Entwistle. A lifelong Herkimer resident, upon completing her high school education she went to work at Mungers Department Store. On July 12, 1951, she married Robert W. Edick. They shared a loving and devoted union of nearly 59 years until his passing on January 3, 2010. For many years Shirley worked at MDS before retiring in 1990. Shirley's life revolved around her family. Dedication and love for her husband, children, grand and great-grand were abundant. Shirley and Robert enjoyed their many travels, spending time to be with family wherever they resided. She will be rememberedas a beautiful Lady both inside and out. Her heart always had room for one more child or one more friend. Her smile would light up a room. She will be dearly missed by the lives she touched over the years. Surviving are a son, David A. Edick (Janet Carlson)), of Colorado Springs, CO a daughter, Beth Ann Fullington (Nate Acker) of Herkimer, 2 grandchildren, Amy and Brett, 4 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tanner, Farah, Natalee, 1 great-great-grandchild Arya, a brother Robert (Joyce) Entwistle, of Mohawk a sister, Sandra Marusic of Herkimer, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband Robert, she was predeceased by a son, Robert D. Edick on April 14, 2021, a grandson, Benjamin Edick on July 23, 2015, 5 brothers, Joseph,Ernest, Raymond, Francis, and Donald, and 2 sisters, Dorothy and Betty. The family will be present in Fenner Funeral Home Inc. 115 Court Street, Herkimer to receive relatives and friends on Monday May 13, 2024 from 11:00 am until 12 noon. A funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Unadilla Forks Cemetery.
