HERKIMER-Shirley Ann Getman age 84 entered into the arms of her mother on Wednesday morning September 5, 2018 in Little Falls Hospital. She was born on February 1, 1934 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Jacob and Dorothy Witherstein Weber. A lifelong Herkimer resident she was educated in Herkimer High School. On March 20, 1953 she was united in marriage to Edward H. Getman in West Winfield. They shared a devoted union of fifty-one years until his passing on August 30, 2004. Shirley will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives. She is survived by her son, James Getman and his wife Janet of Herkimer, two sisters, Joyce Schrader, Joan Parson, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by eight brothers, Warren, Jacob, Howell, Robert, Frederick, William, Douglas and James Weber, two sisters, Frances Shavilla and Margaret Oliver Calling hours for Mrs. Getman will take place on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer . A funeral service will follow immediately after at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Committal service will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer Public Library. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
