HERKIMER - Stephen Brelinsky, 81, of 105 Protection Ave., passed away Friday morning, April 6, 2007, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.He was born on Dec. 24, 1925, in Herkimer, son of the late Daniel and Anna Ksenich Brelinsky. A lifelong area resident, Steve was educated in West Canada Valley High School.An honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran, he served from 1946 to 1948, attaining the rank of Tech-5.For many years he owned and operated the Brelinsky Dairy Farm on West End Road, Little Falls, retiring in 1975.He was a life member of Michael S. Pliseck Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4915 in Herkimer. All who knew Steve will remember a quiet, down-to-earth man whose warmth and friendship flowed from his character. He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.Surviving are two sons, Robert Brelinsky of Utica and Stephen Brelinsky Jr. of Florida; three daughters and their husbands, Sally Ann and Darby Roche of Milford, N.J., Joan Sue and Jeff Charles of Pensacola, Fla., and Betty and Robert Gressel of Rome; one brother, John and his wife Winifred Brelinsky of Little Falls; five sisters, Helen Sobolowski of Herkimer, Sadie Steciak of Deland, Fla., Julia Kowalczyk and her husband Peter of Herkimer, Christine Stanley of Denver, Colo., and Mary Sidoran of Barneveld; one sister-in-law, Sandra Brelinsky of Herkimer; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Brelinsky. At Mr. Brelinsky's request, funeral service and interment are private and at the convenience of the family.
