JORDANVILLE - Sue M. Brander, age 66, of Travis Road, passed away on Sunday morning October 31, 2010, in her home after a long illness. She had the support and comfort of her loving family at her side. She was born on February 10, 1944, in Manchester, CTdaughter of Helen Frazier Monaghan and the late Arthur Monaghan. Sue was raised and educated in Connecticut. She had obtained her Bachelors Degree in English from the Universityof Connecticut and continued studies at Notre Dame University. She at one time was married to Ronald Brander who currently lives in West Chester, PA. Coming to Jordanville in the year 2000 from Tolland, CT, Mrs. Brander was an accomplished writer and fund raiser for many charities. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening but her first and foremost love was raising and caring for Morgan Horses. Sue will always be remembered as a caring, hopeful person with an unforgettable smile. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. Surviving are her mother Helen Monaghan, one daughter Sarah Brander and her companion Jeremy Tripp all of Jordanville, a niece Kathleen Monaghan-Simmons and a nephew Scott Monaghan both of Danbury, CT, along with her loving cousins, Michael Monaghan of NC, James Monaghan of Georgia, and Steve Monaghan of CT. Besides her father she was preceded in death by her brother John Monaghan. Funeral service and committal in Mt.Hope Cemetery,Rockville, CT will be private and at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held later next spring at a time to be announced.
