RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Sylvia Nita Holdridge, 86, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001.
She was born April 18, 1915, in Exeter Center, daughter of the late Warren Lee and Itina Curtiss Babcock.
For 35 years she was employed as a teacher's aide at Jawonio. Sylvia had a great love of children, family and nature.
She is survived by her son, DeForest and his wife Eileen Holdridge of Theills; two daughters, Ada and her husband George Mechler of Phillipsburg, N.J. and Joanne and her husband Philip Geraci of Utica; a brother, Leigh Babcock of Schuyler Lake; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Holdridge on Oct. 2, 1976, and a brother, Gerald Babcock who died Jan. 14, 1994.
A service of remembrance and reflection will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs. A graveside service will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. in Hartwick Cemetery, Hartwick.
