Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Thelma M. Domion, 81, of Domion Road, passed away Sunday evening, May 11, in Folts Homes Inc., Herkimer. She was born June 4, 1921, in Milford, a daughter of the late Seth and Jennie (Tompkins) Martindale. Raised and educated in Milford, she graduated high school in 1942. On June 26, 1958, she married Victor Willard Domion in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. They shared a devoted union of 40 years until his passing April 23, 1998. For many years she and her husband worked a dairy farm, retiring in 1985. For a short time she did crochet work for Greenleaf Goods in Meredith. From 1987 until 1994, she worked at the Pennysaver in Richfield Springs.Thelma will be remembered as a loving, caring and hardworking person, with a happy attitude and a love for life. She loved animals, especially cats, dogs and horses. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening.She is survived by her loving daughter, Joann Domion of Richfield Springs; one brother, Lewis Martindale of Milford; one sister, Dorothy March of Oceanside, Calif.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stuart Martindale.Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs. Sister Patricia Woolheater of St. Joseph's Church will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Thursday morning one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m.
