SYLVAN BEACH-Theodore A. Hugick age 74 of Pine Avenue formerly of Richfield Springs entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday June 14, 2005 in his home. He was born on September 8, 1930 in the town of Columbia, son of the late George and Marion Bukato Hugick. Ted was raised in the Richfield Springs area and was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. In 1950 he entered the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged from the Reserves in 1955 attaining the rank of Corporal. On September 8, 1956 he married the former Nancy Seidel in the Richfield Springs United Methodist Church. From 1954 until 1957 he was a policeman for the Village of Richfield Springs. For thirty years he worked for the Guild Construction Company in Rhode Island until 1986 when he went to work for the Revereware Company in Rome retiring in 2000. He was a member of American Legion Post # 1153 in Sylvan Beach. To all that knew him they will remember his warm smile and the happiness that his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him. He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten. Surviving are his wife of forty-seven years Nancy, a loving daughter Linda and her husband Matthew Tedford of Sylvan Beach, a brother Bernard and his wife Nancy Hugick of Mohawk, his grandchildren Theresa and Scott Beckwith and Scott Tedford with Mandi Boraudi. Great grandchildren Catalina, Brandy, Nicholas and Brianna Beckwith along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sons Ted Jr. in 1962 and Dennis Hugick in 1985, one sister Frances Yaworski, two brothers, Eddie and George Hugick. Funeral service will be on Saturday at 11:00 am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The Reverend John Young will officiate. Mr. Hugick will laid to rest with military honors in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the funeral service (10:00 until 11:00 am).
