Obituary

MOHAWK-Theresa Ann Lynch, age 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon August 22, 2018, in her home. She had the comfort and support of her loving family at her side. Theresa was born on October 20, 1932 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Clarence B. and Arimina Theout Yelle. A lifelong area resident she was raised in Herkimer where she was educated in Saint Francis deSales Catholic School and Herkimer High School. On January 20, 1951 she was united in marriage to John F. Lynch in Saint Marys RC Church in Middleville. For eighteen years Mrs. Lynch worked as a Gun Stock Engraver with the Remington Arms Company in Ilion. She retired in 1985. Mrs. Lynch was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church in Herkimer. In her leisure time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making Afghan Blankets. To all who knew her she was a warm and caring lady who was happiest when surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed. Surviving are her devoted husband of sixty-seven years, John, a son John Jack Lynch and his wife Rose of Ilion, two daughters, Ann Marie Hill and her husband John of East Herkimer, Nancy Murphy of Ilion, one brother, Charles Chuck Yelle and his wife Carole of Clifton Park, five grandchildren, Lindsay Jordan and her husband Rob of New York Mills, Paul Lynch and his wife Marcia of Ilion, Annie Scalise of Ilion, Joseph Hill of CA, Daniel Murphy of Ilion, eight great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin Yelle (killed in WW II) and Richard Yelle , three sisters, Diana Colby, Lydia Vivacqua and Anita Ligoski. Calling hours for Mrs. Lynch will be on Monday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 am in Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer with Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to Francis deSales Church, Herkimer or Hospice and Palliative Care, New Hartford. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
