UTICA-Theresa Zaleski McCarthy age 42 of Lenox Avenue passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 2, 2006 in Saint Elizabeths Medical Center.
She was born on June 2, 1964 in Herkimer, daughter of Margaret M. Zelinsky Zaleski Skandera and the late Albin A. Zaleski. Theresa was raised in Jordanville and was a graduate of Owen D. Young High School. She furthered her education, graduating from North Country Community College. From 1990 to 2004 Mrs. McCarthy was employed as a Genetic Technician with Hughes Industries of Brandice University in Massachusetts.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica. First and foremost was the love for her children and the activities in their lives. She enjoyed the quality time of coaching both their Softball and Soccer teams.
Theresa will always be remembered as a loving, caring and hopeful person and will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
Surviving are her cherished daughters, Jessica and Kelly McCarthy of Burlington, MA, her mother Margaret Skandera and her husband Thomas of Herkimer, two brothers and their wives, Albin and Luann Zaleski of Rome, Alex and Vicky Zaleski of Albuquerque, NM, Three sisters and their husbands, Barbara and Joseph Melkody of Herkimer, Agnes and Nelson Crouss of Springfield Center, Maryann and Matthew Dubai of Clinton, five aunts, Helen Marseglia of FL, Irene and her husband John Cullen of Stratford, CT, Justine Zaleski of Riverhead, LI, Cecelia Zaleski of Jamesport, LI, Frances Saresky of Shelton, CT, two uncles, Edward and his wife Kathleen Zelinsky of Bridgeport, CT, Vincent Zelinsky of Coco, FL, eight nieces, four nephews and many cousins.
Funeral from Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Wednesday at 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am in Saint Francis deSales Church Herkimer. The Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Saint Josephs Cemetery, Richfield Springs. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to Saint Francis deSales Regional School. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
