MOHAWK - Therese Carman age 75 of Shoemaker Roadpassed away Thursday evening November 29, 2007 in St. Lukes Medical Center, New Hartford. She was born on January 16, 1932 in Salisbury Corners, daughter of the late Charles Jay and Angie A. Pockette Nichols. A lifelong area resident she was a graduate of the Utica School of Commerce. For a number of years she was employed as an office worker in various businesses throughout the valley. On September 4, 1982 she was united in marriage with Edward Devern Carman in Mohawk. Sadly, Mr. Carman died on September 18, of the same year. Therese had strong belief in God and led a devoted Catholic life. She was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk. Therese will always be remembered as a good natured person who dealt with lifes many changes in a positive way. To her family she will always be remembered for her special love for Peanut Butter and Fig Newton Cookies. She was a joy to be with and will be truly missed. Surviving are two sisters, Shirley Sweet and her husband George of Mohawk, Gloria Jean Joyce and her husband John of Frankfort, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Edward she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter J. Nichols, two sisters, Geraldona Guidroz and Beverly Noonan. Funeral service and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to MOVAC.
