RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Thomas L. Miller age 58 of Lake Street passed away on Tuesday night January 5, 2010 in MaryImogene BassettHospital, Cooperstown.
He was born on March 13, 1951 in Piqua, Ohio, son of the late Lawrence and Ella Miller. Tom was raised in Bradford,OH and was a graduate of Bradford High School.
Mr. Miller had lived in Plainfieldand for fifteen years and was a self employed building construction worker until his retirement in 1999. It was in 1999 that he moved to Richfield Springs and has resided since.
In his leisure time he enjoyed bowling, playing pool, pitching horse shoes and fishing. An avid football fan he followed and rooted for his Ohio football teams, Ohio State University and the Cleveland Browns. More recently he was the coach of the Genesee Pounders softball team. A familiar face around town, he was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Samantha Miller of Leonardsville, two sisters, Judy and Doris, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins both here and in Ohio. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother James and a sister, Betty.
Funeral service will take place on Saturday at 3:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, RichfieldSprings. The Reverend John Young will officiate. Interment will take place later this spring in the Unadilla Forks Cemetery, Unadilla Forks. Cling hours will be in the funeral home two hours prior to the funeral service (1:00 until 3:00 pm). His family wishes to express their appreciation to the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad for all the care and compassion shown to Tom during this difficult time.
