Mohawk - The Very Reverend Wsevolod Drobot (also known as ''Drob'' at his secular job) passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on Wednesday, the 8th of November 2017
He was born in 1930, in Zaporoshia, Ukraine. During the WWII Fr. Wsevolod and his family fled Ukraine through Europe, and eventually emigrated to Argentina, where he met his late wife Nadezhda "Dina" (2015) By December 1958 he emigrated to Jordanville, NY to begin his Theological studies at Holy Trinity Seminary. He was ordained into the priesthood in 1961 and was assigned to the Albany, NY parish shortly after. He retired in 2012, due to declining health after serving his parish for 50yrs. He took his priesthood very seriously and was very dedicated to his parish family, which he loved very dearly. Besides being a priest, he also held a secular job, working for Utica College, in the building maintenance dept. He was a jack of all trades, and he always lent a helping hand to however needed it. He will be deeply missed by many, and remembered as a humble, generous and kind pastor and beloved father to many.
He is survived by his sister in-law Vera and her husband V. Rev. Vladimir Schlenev; sons Protodeacon Nicholas, Serge, John and his wife Ellena; daughters Maria, Olga, Xenia, and Sophia; grandchildren Christina, Livia, Juliana, Timothy, Angel, John, Gabriel, Raphael, Daniel, and many nieces and nephews.
Instead of calling hours, there will be a requiem service held at the Holy Trinity Monastery Cathedral on Thursday and Friday at 6:30pm, with the funeral service on Saturday the 11th, at 9am.
Please note: The Monastery is a monastic commiunity and has a dress code. Slacks and dress shirt for men, and skirts or dresses and head coverings for ladies.
