ILION - Valerie Ann Kenniston, age 73, of 99 Sixth Avenue, formerly of Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning May 18, 2013 in Mohawk Valley Health Care Center. Valerie was born September 30, 1939 in New Milford, Connecticut a daughter of the late Ralph F. and Dorothy Ingalls Camp. She was raised and educated in New Milford and after graduating from high school, she had attended college. At one time she was married to Harold E. Hill and later to Lloyd I. Kenniston who both preceded her in death. Valerie and her husband Lloyd moved to Herkimer in 1968. For twenty eight years Valerie was as a Certified Nurses Aide at Folts Homes, where she truly enjoyed her time there making many friends of who she cared for. She always had a special place in her heart for animals, and was especially fond of cats. She was a friend to many and touched more lives than we will ever know. She will never be forgotten. Surviving her are one son, Raymond Kenniston of Ilion, a daughter Sandra Hasbrouck and her husband Shawn of Delhi, six grandchildren; Justin Hasbrouck of Delhi, Tommy Rogers of McKees Rock, PA, Courtney Hasbrouck of Delhi, Karen Kenniston of Fort Plain, Corey Hasbrouck of Delhi and Niccole Kenniston of Ilion. She was preceded in death by a sister Leora Roberts. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday May 30th at 2:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer with the Reverend Patricia Lawrence officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made in donations to the Herkimer County Humane Society or the Cooperstown Cancer Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
