Richfield Springs - Veronica Vicky Elizabeth Gogol, age 87, of County Highway 25A, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2011, in Valley Health Services, Herkimer.She was born on May 27, 1923, in the town of Warren, a daughter of the late Joseph and Vincenta Kodz. A lifelong area resident, she attended Van Hornesville Central School.On June 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to John R. Gogol in St. Joseph Church, Herkimer. They shared a devoted union of fifty-nine years until his passing on July 15, 2006.For twenty-six years, Mrs. Gogol worked for Shur-Katch in Richfield Springs, retiring in 1981.She was a parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Richfield Springs. In her leisure time, she enjoyed working in her flower garden. Vicky was happiest when she was with her many friends and family, especially with her cherished grandson. She will be greatly missed.Surviving are one son, Robert J. Gogol, and a grandson, Carl Gogol, both of Oppenheim, along with several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs.
