RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Vicki R. Harris age 69 of County Highway # 22, passed away on Sunday afternoon August 24, 2014 in her home. She had the peace and comfort of her loving family at her side. She was born on May 20, 1945 in Ilion daughter of the late Donald and Florence Kaples Rice. A lifelong area resident she was raised in Ilion and graduated from Ilion High School. She went on to Ithaca College where she received her Bachelor's Degree. On July 29, 1972 she was united in marriage with Lynn F. Harris in the town of New Hartford. They have made their home in Richfield Springs since that time. Mrs. Harris was a Physical Therapist and for more than twenty years worked at the Herkimer County Health Department. In her leisure time she enjoyed knitting, reading, boat rides on Canadarago Lake and traveling with her husband. To all who knew her she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Vicki was the strength that held them together, weather in good times or bad she was always there for them. She was a good friend to many and will be greatly missed. Surviving are her loving husband of forty-two years, Lynn, three sons, Brendon Harris and his wife Darcie, Graig Harris all of Richfield Springs, Todd Harris and his companion Korie of Gansvoort, one cherished granddaughter Madison Harris of Richfield Springs, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours for Mrs. Harris will take place in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs, on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm with a Memorial service to follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
