HERKIMER-Victorio Francis Cristiano Dick age 80 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning December 8, 2016 in his home. He was born on March 1, 1936 in Herkimer, son of the late Peter and Maria Concetta Varano Cristiano. A lifelong Herkimer resident, he was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On July 23, 1960 he was united in marriage to the former Mary Ann Goodsight in Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. They shared a loving and devoted union of fifty-six years until her passing on March 6, 2016. For many years Dick was first a self-employed General Contractor and then with his wife Mary Ann opened the Ilion True Value Hardware Store which they both successfully operated. For many years he served as chairman of the Village of Herkimer Zoning Board Appeals. He was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. To all who knew him he was a master carpenter and excellent businessman. He enjoyed being with people and carrying on great conversations with them. You could always walk away from him with a real sense of warmth and friendship. He will be sadly missed by all. Surviving are his four children, Debi Cristiano and her companion Cage OHanlon of Siesta Key, FL, Rick Cristiano and his wife Cindy of Pearland, TX, Diane Cristiano of South Bend, IN, Robert Cristiano and his companion Sue Connelly of Herkimer, five grandchildren, Ashley and Brittany Cristiano, Victoria and Cristian Ziege and Robert Drumm, one brother, Peter Cristiano of Michigan, a sister, Rose Skubisz of Schenectady. Besides his parents and wife Mary Ann he is preceded death by three brothers, Francis, Thomas and Joseph Cristiano, two sisters, Theresa Fiorentino and Angie Gelose. Funeral service for Mr. Cristiano was private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., Herkimer.
