Herkimer - Viola MargaretNadeau, 80, of East Albany Street, died peacefully on Sunday morning, February 6, 2000, inMohawk Valley Nursing Home, Ilion.
She was born on April 3, 1919, in Bennington, VT, daughter of the lateFranz and Imogene Woodard. A Bennington resident during her childhood, she was raised andeducated there. On December 19, 1939 she was married to Alcide Nadeau in Bennington. Hepassed away in 1943. Viola came to Herkimer in 1987 from Cohoes to live with her daughterEileen. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and bake for her family. She was a member ofthe United Methodist Church of Bennington, VT.
Surviving are four daughters, Eileen Nadeau with whom she resided, EvaCheck of NC, Christine Dougherty of Hyde Park, Angela Fusco of Johnstown, four sons; Johnand his wife Angela Fusco of Wingdale, Peter Fusco of Orlando, FL, Harry Fusco of Cohoes,Alcide Fusco of Herkimer; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Besides herhusband Alcide she was preceded in death by a son Edward Fusco in 1998.
Funeral service will take place on Tuesday evening at 8:00 PM in Fenner Funeral HomeInc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend William Otis, pastor of the FirstUnited Methodist Church Herkimer, will officiate. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemeterylater this spring. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives andfriends two hours prior to the funeral service (6:00 to 8:00 PM).
