SPRINGFIELD CENTER - Virginia M. Glynn, age 85 formerly of State Highway 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2006 in Valley Health Service, Inc., Herkimer.
One of nine children, she was born in Manhattan, on May 29, 1921, a daughter of the late John and Katherine MacNamara Donovan. Raised and educated in New York City, on August 2, 1941 she married James Glynn in Yonkers. For fifty-three years they shared a loving and devoted relationship. Mr. Glynn passed away on March 14, 1993.
As a young girl Virginia would visit relatives in the Springfield area. She fell in love with the country side and in 1958 the family moved to Springfield Center. Over the years she held various office jobs including the State Albany Bank in Richfield Springs, however Virginia was all about family. Her life revolved around her home and family. She was happiest when with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Virginia was full of life, love and laughter and will always be remembered.
Surviving are two sons, James Glynn of San Francisco, CA, John Glynn of Springfield Center, a daughter, Janet Spraker and her husband Robert of Richfield Springs, eight granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Kenneth Donovan of Las Vegas, NV, two sisters, Grace Bay of Ft. Lauderdale, FL Veronica Saunders of Ft. Myers, Fl, a sister-in-law Dorothy Donovan of Long Island, several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband James, she was preceded in death by two grandsons.
There are no calling hours. Funeral service and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
