ILION - Virginia M. Homa, age 81, formerly of Middleville, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, May 9, 2011, in Mohawk Valley Nursing Home where she has resided for the past six years. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.
She was born on September 3, 1929, in the town of Exeter, a daughter of the late Lewis and Martha Domion Seamon.Virginia was raised and educated in Richfield Springs where she attended school.At one time she was married to Joseph Homa, he preceded her in death on February 9th of this year.For twenty-one years Mrs. Homa was a machinist for Remington Arms Company in Ilion. She retired in 1990.
Virginia enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.Her smile and laughter are memories her family and friends will cherish forever.
Surviving her are her children Brenda Neale and her husband Clifford of Middleville, Gregory Homa of West Edmeston, Neal Homa and his companion Rita of Clinton, TN, Ronald Homa of Newport, brothers, Merton Seamon and his wife Diane of Richfield Springs and Texas, Edward Seamon, Howard Seamon, James Seamon and his wife Ann, Grant Seamon and his wife Joan, Lee Seamon all of Richfield Springs, two sisters, Elizabeth Collins and her husband Lee of Jordanville, Rose Zenner of Otego, thirteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son Daniel, five brothers, Willis , Harry, Fred, Devere and Louis Seamon, three sisters Margaret Palmer, Genevieve Spytko and Mabel Bond.
A Funeral Service for Virginia will take place on Thursday at 11:00 am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home 40 West James Street Richfield Springs.Interment will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery, Richfield Springs. The family will be present in the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am (one hour prior to the service)to receive relatives and friends.
