HERKIMER-Virginia R. Jacobs age 93 of Park Place passed away on Friday January 27, 2012 in Faxton-St. Lukes Medical Center, New Hartford. She was born on April 16, 1918 in Dolgeville, daughter of the late Gerald Sr. and Mary Brown Jacobs. A lifelong Herkimer resident, she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. She furthered her education graduating from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Miss Jacobs was employed as a case worker with the New York State Department of Labor in Utica. She retired in 1967. She was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. To all who knew her she was a loving, caring and private person with an unforgettable smile. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Gerald Jacobs of Tampa, FL and dear friends, Carlos and Marilyn Albertan of Herkimer. A graveside service will be held on Friday June 8th at 1:00 pm in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer. The Reverend Mark Cunningham, pastor of Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer will officiate.
