LITTLE FALLS – Virginia "Ginny" M. Springer, 84, formerly of Mohawk, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in her home. She was born on July 21, 1939, in the town of Horicon, Brandt Lake, a daughter of the late Roy and Edith (Bennett) Springer. Following her education, Ginny worked at a variety of places through the years including Herkimer Memorial Hospital, Ilion Hospital, Folts Home, Riverside mall, and cleaning houses. Ginny loved animals, all of them, but especially dogs. Through the years, Ginny could be seen walking her beloved dogs or pushing them along in their stroller. She would refer to them as "the girls" who were so fondly named after some of her favorite country music singers, Teddy, Lynn, Dolly, Patsy and Reba. Ginny enjoyed spending time outside and meeting new people. In her later years, Ginny attended the Little Falls Adult Day Care program, of which she always looked forward to going and made several new friends along the way. Ginny will be remembered as a diligent worker who took immense pride in her work. She found joy in helping others. She could put a smile on your face whenever she was with you. Ginny had the best laugh, one that her friends will never forget. Surviving are her dear friends, although many would consider more like family, who Ginny would fondly refer to as her niece, Mary Zambri and her husband Tom, Mary's daughter, Lillian and her husband James, and many other friends and neighbors. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her adoptive mother Georgian DeMett, and all of her siblings. While there are no calling hours, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11:00 am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Interment in Union Cemetery Hudson Falls, NY will be private and at the convenience of the family.
